Re: Empty (Virgin) Carts for the 7500 ??

2001-12-30 by calpen11

Bernd,
If I understand your problem there are two ways to fix it, if the
7xxx
is like the 9xxx. I had a 9000 and then unwittingly got it converted
to a 9500 (LONG STORY). Anywhow, the only difference between 9000
and
9500 carts is that the 9500 carts have a black square on the front of
the carts, and a sensor is built into the machine to detect which
cart
is in there, to prevent somebody from putting the wrong kind of cart
in the machine.
1. you can try to locate the area of the 7000 cart that is supposed
to have the black coloring, and get a black marker and color it.
However, if the black marker is too shiny, the printer won't be
fooled.
2. The easeir way (which I know first hand that a few 9500 users do
to run indelible inks in 9000 carts) is to call epson, and they can
tell you how to turn off that sensor in the 7500. They will put up a
huge fight, because you are not using their ink. But that sensor
can
be turned off, and then the printer doesn't care which kind of cart
goes in there.
Hope that helps,
Tony Caltabiano
