Digital BW, The Print

Hi all,
It's my first post here. I have an Epson 2200 with Epson RIP and I
would like if there is a difference between using Epson RIP in
grayscale Ink mode or using Epson Driver in Black only? I use Epson
Enhanced Matte Paper. 
In fact, I don't know how to set correctly Epson RIP, so all tricks
are really welcome.
