I run my tests on 8x10 or 8.5x11 from the tray, and just print on one side of the paper. Then turn it around, reload it, and do whatever needs to be tested on the other side. And I sometimes load my 8x10 or 8.5x11 sideways through the manual slot, because even 8 inch is seems a bit narrow for these machines.
