Digital BW, The Print

In the December issue of the German Colorfoto magazine is a 
test published on 52 papers. Gloss is measured, Lab whiteness. 
Fade resistance, yellowing, color saturation etc etc. Tested 
on a Canon, the Epson R800 and an HP printer. What surprised 
me was that so few papers were considered incompatible between 
the 3 printer models. The gloss film had more incompatible 
combinations but that was for the same films on both Epson and 
Canon, the HP showed no incompatibility with the films. Are 
dye and pigment inks + papers getting more and more compatible ?
