Thanks, Clayton. What I should have added to my last message is that the cost and effort of working digitally will continue to improve. As technology advances, the techniques photographer's use to create digital images will become more standardized, accessable, relatively less expensive, and easier to master. Which parallels what happend with film-based/wet darkroom photography, abeit in a much more concentrated time frame. Prior to recent improvements in camera raw processing (Photoshop CS2 and Aperture) and Epson's ABW mode, I would have placed digital imaging roughly in the dry plate era. I think we've just transitioned from dry plate to roll film (circa 1890). It's only going to get better. The technology will continue to improve rapidly; techniques will become increasingly transparent. Hope everyone has a good and restful holiday.
