Many, if not most, of the products that we buy are not made by the company that's listed as the manufacturer. Instead, they are subcontracted out -- often to fine firms that do an excellent job. I can see why a company would want to say "This is our paper", rather than "This paper is made to our standards and with our methodology and formulation by XYZ company".
