Just a quick note to say that I've used Brewer Cantelmo for small edition books and they do a great job at an inexpensive price. I searched around and found they were the best for what I wanted. I will say there are a lot of obstacles in making your own books. If you have the energy you could pick up a how-to book like Hand Bookbinding by Aldren Watson on Dover. That will give you a clear picture of how much craft is involved in the process.
