Digital BW, The Print

Hi all,  

I'm an amatuer photographer with professional aspirations who 
received an Epson 2000P for Christmas.  

After comparing my b&w test prints to my conventional darkroom prints 
and researching the 2000P on the Web, I'm wondering whether I should 
trade it in for the 1270 or 1280.  I'm focusing on b&w photography, 
however I'd also like to print color photos on the same printer so 
quad ink systems like the piezography system are not a real option. 

Will I have better b&w results with the 1270 or 1280? Will the 
resulting prints still be archival quality albeit not as long-lasting 
as the 2000P prints?
