Help re 2400 cartridge chip resettings do not ever turn green ?

2006-01-31 by elsieforman

This is quite an important point, at least for me, as I do not wish to
get caught at with no capacity to reset an MIS Epson 2400 cartridge
chip, and thus have to wait until delivery in order to proceed.

I have tried resetting the original Epson cartridges, and it is
obvious enough that Epson would figure out a way to stop its own
cartridge chips from being reset. I tried an MIS SK168, and as I had
purchased it for 2200 cartridges, I assumed the batteries must have
died, or it was not compatible with 2400 carts when it would not show
a green at the end of a presumed reset on original Epson cartridges,
which had emptied as a result of printing.

I then bought a new, comparable resetter, which looks identical.
(CN208). But it would also go through the sequence but never turn
green on the 2400 carts. The MIS site
http://www.inksupply.com/qb7.cfm, indicates that this can only mean a
damaged chip. Yet the instructions that come in the box of the CN208
state that it could never reach green on a reset, yet the reset will
take place. I am a touch concerned that I may damage the 2400 chips
and be really stuck.

Have other had success with resetting 2400 carts, even though the
green light never appears ? Feedback is appreciated.
