Although it has limitations, the 3000 is still probably the cheapest way to
make great 16 x 20 digital B&W prints.  I have canned curves for the MIS FS
(PiezoBW clone) inks that can be used with the Epson driver.

An interesting question is whether the Create ICC would work with the 3000.
If it does, then one can combine easy linearization and monitor-matching
with the old 3000 workhorse.  That might make a nice combination.  However,
for the control curves to be embedded into an ICC, they need some
modifications.  My old 7500 (7 pl dots) worked fine with the modifications.
Whether the 3000 with its 11 pl dots would be acceptable with them is an
open question.  If someone has a 3000 with  MIS FS (UT-FS or FSN) or PiezoBW
inks, we could give it a try to see what happens.
