Re: Ultrachrome K3 vs Piezo neutral K7

2006-02-04 by joshhackney

Stephen,

I was using K7 on a 2200 for several months and was very please. When I purchased my
7800 at the beginning of December, I was disappointed that K7 carts were not yet
available for that printer. I started using K3, and am now VERY please with the results -
especially on Epson's Ultrasmooth Fine Art. Being able to run a color print occasionally is
a nice perk. I have just switched my 7800 over to PK for testing Crane's Silver Rag, and so
far - I think I will leave it set up that way. Since everything I sell ends up under glass, the
beauty of the matte finish is completely obscured, and the additional dmax of Silver Rag is
worth it. With the feedback that many on this group provided Crane during beta testing, I
am confident that production paper is going to be even better.

I think you won't be disappointed with either inkset, but the K3 is more versatile.

Good luck.

Josh
