Keep in mind that those profiles are only really accurate for the 
printer that was used to create them. So if your printer is far enough 
away form that "ideal" printer, then the results will be of poor 
quality. The only way around this is to measure a larger number of 
samples and then average the measurements, or make all the printers 
perform the same.

It could also be that they printed the target wrong, and messed up the 
profile.
