I don't have experience with the 4800, but I wonder if, like the 7600, the repair costs are huge compared to the desktop printers. If the 4800 cannot be taken to the local authorized Epson repair person, beware. The large format printers also have ink settling and color shift problems that are not an issue with desktop units. Overall, I'm not sure amateur photographers should try to deal with large format printers. We're going to workflows with standardized color spaces that will allow the professional printers to easily match our desktop output. So, the occasional large print can be done by someone who uses the large printer all the time and is in a position to keep it running better. Even Epson is likely to enter this printing market.
