Frank, >The 1160 has continually flashing lights for the power and paper feed >and a continuous light for the ink. Everything is 'jammed. Page 50 of the 1160 manual describes this flashing pattern as either jammed paper blocking the movement of the head, or you may not have removed the yellow tape seal from the installed ink cartridges. The manual says to turn off the printer, open the cover, and check inside for any jammed paper. Then turn the printer back on. If any ink out light remains on and the print head moves into replacement position, replace the ink cartridges. If the lights still flash and/or come on, contact your dealer or Epson. My printer after a year on a month of use -- that is, right after the warranty expired -- had all lights flashing and it was caused by the printer counting some parameter that told it I needed to pay a service person to clean the printer. I never found out what the secret internal number was. It cost $95. I do a lot of cleaning, not because of pigments, but because of my constantly playing with different ink formulas. I almost never have a clog, it's just air in the lines from the bottom-filling of the carts. I'm happy to report that the vacuum filling method has cut the cleaning cycles down to almost none at all, even when putting in a newly-filled cart. Paul http://www.PaulRoark.com
