Frank, Why are the ends of the tubes out ink bottles? Once I've pulled a vacuum to fill a CIS, I stick the ends of the tubes into the appropriate ink bottle, uncrimp the tubes to fill the carts, and the tubes do not come out of those bottles again until I need more ink.
