this was nothing recommended by Epson, as far as I know. I found the 
head assembly juddering along the bar one day, acting like it needed 
lubrication. I grabbed what was at hand, gave the bar a thin coat, 
and the problem went away. They're bound to wipe away the factory 
lube at some point.
