Over the years I have had to explain to dozens of unknowledgable DTP32 owners why the expensive device they already owned wasn't sufficient to build ICC profiles for their printers. A densitimeter can tell you very nicely whether each step in a magenta ramp is too light or too dark, but it will never tell you whether its too red or too blue.
