I _believe_ the printer will not print if one of the carts is empty. Worse, when powering on, or printing after a break the mini-cleaning cycle is run which wastes ink. So, even if you only ever wanted to print black-only on Epson printers... your colour ink would keep running out aswell :( Nij > -----Original Message----- > From: frankg_photo [mailto:frank@...] > Sent: 13 January 2002 21:30 > To: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [Digital BW] can printer still print black if col cart is > empty? > > > Will printer (1160) still be able to print if only one cart is full ? > > I know for 100% sure that the black ink is ok - if the col is empty, > which I suspect, do you know if that would prevent a printout of just > black ink - for example some text in a Word document - and then in > the printer driver selecting the black ink instead of col.
