Hi Guys, Need your advice on this.I have a 7600 which I occasionaly use.I have a matte black cartridge in it.As I understand, the usual problem with seldom used printer is head clogging especially in the matte black nozzle. This has happened a few times but after a few run with head cleaning cycle it clears up.But not this time. I called a tech guy from the Epson distributor, and since he has no flushing cartridge,he drained the inks using the manual suction. The nozzle check print showed the clog was removed. But it showed serious misalignment in the black nozzle resulting in very obvious banding. He tried head alignment a few times but he says the printhead has been damaged by the clog. Now he gave me two options. To change the printhead, which cost around $400,or buy from him a 7800 at a discounted price of around $3000-the regular price here in Manila is around $3800. Question:Could the printhead have been misaligned by the clog or is he just trying to sell me a new printhead or printer? Thanks in advance, Toto __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
