RE: [Digital BW] Does 1160 printer drive have a gamma control ???

2002-01-15 by Alessandro Pardi

Jim,

my 1160 does display a combo with various gamma settings in the print
settings. I hadn't answered before because I am at work now and cannot tell
you exactly what my driver is (it may be the italian driver, given that I
bought my 1160 here in Italy), nor exactly whether this combo is always
there or appears only under particular settings. All I can tell for sure is
that I get much better results with the 2.2 setting rather than the
suggested 1.8, but that's another matter.
I'll post again when I have more precise information.

I asked this earlier but got limited response.

Does the 1160 printer driver have a box the lets the
user select gamma for the printer?

The workflow (Woolf) section of the MIS www site indicates this
is so, yet I don't have such a doo-hickey in my 1160
controls.
What's up with that?

I'm forming the opinion that getting up and running with
BW is way harder than color

Cheers,
JimD
