Tom, I hope someone has a solution for this problem, as I have it too. Same circumstances. Had a 1280 for a year and it worked well with UT2 inks. Then I switched to the MIS spongeless carts, and it worked well for a few months. Then the light magenta nozzles would clog. Switch to Epson Carts, and I could get them working again. Back to UT2 and the LM nozzles would clog. Eventually, I couldn't get them to work at all, so I bought a new 1280. Worked for a while, then the same problem with the LM nozzles. Had Epson replace it. After a week or so, the problem came back with the replacement! Same problem with 3 1280s! Now I can consistently get all nozzels working with my tinted cleaning fluid (also in a MIS spongeless cart), but as soon as I put the UT2 in spongeless carts in, most of the LM nozzles disappear. At first I thought the problem could be the spongeless carts are flooding the head circuit boards in the same area to short out the LM circuitry. I also thought that my 2 year old bottle of UT2 LM might thickening up, but I put some new ink in to no avail. I also suspect that it could be a manufacturing defect with the spongeless carts, like a leaking LM seal due to misalignment of the port, but this wouldn't explain why the spongeless cleaning cart works consistently. I am now looking for some sponge carts to try to see if the spongeless ones are the problem. Does anyone know where I can get them? Bout ready to toss the 1280s and get something else. Tom Wells
