Re: [Digital BW] MIS spongeless carts' poppet valves problem?

2006-05-21 by Nick H. Nugent

This confirmed a suspicion I had about spongeless carts I got from
another source not MIS. I think the problem is with the filter inside
the carts that eventually will not let any ink go through. I think
they were designed for dye ink.

You can't even suck ink from a clogged cart using a bottom fill
adapter. I did another test by thoroughly cleaning a clogged
spongeless cart by filling it with windex then back flushing it
through the inlet then refilling the cart again with MIS pigment ink.
The cart would work for a couple weeks then clog up again. The back
flush cleaning couldnot completely clear the filter of debris.

Since I decided to switch printers I did not pursue this issue any
further.
