This confirmed a suspicion I had about spongeless carts I got from another source not MIS. I think the problem is with the filter inside the carts that eventually will not let any ink go through. I think they were designed for dye ink. You can't even suck ink from a clogged cart using a bottom fill adapter. I did another test by thoroughly cleaning a clogged spongeless cart by filling it with windex then back flushing it through the inlet then refilling the cart again with MIS pigment ink. The cart would work for a couple weeks then clog up again. The back flush cleaning couldnot completely clear the filter of debris.
