Yeah I tried lots of different things. I alternated between
clean/nozzle check and test prints, I did lots of cleanings in a row
between test prints, I waited upwards of 24 hrs between cleanings
and/or test prints, etc. I tried refilling the black cart a bunch and
primed it from the bottom to make sure it was feeding. When all that
failed, I tried putting MIS cleaning solution on the head pad and
letting it soak overnight. That led to trying the same with windex.
Then I tried soaking a paper towel in windex, unplugging so the print
head is movable, and sliding it over the towel. That actually seemed
to remove some ink, so I got hopeful, but to no avail.

After several weeks of this, I'd exhausted every option I could think
of, and I found an online guide on the disassembly and figured I had
nothing to lose. It's quite complex, and all sorts of bits need to
retain proper alignment, but if you're careful and patient, it's not
too bad. Or so I thought. Maybe I've broken it further.

In any case, I've already ordered an r2400 =)!, but I had hoped to
maybe get the 2200 working and ebay it. It was very lightly used and
in great shape. Plus I have probably two fulls sets of epson ink
unopened, and a full set of refillables from MIS.
