RE: [spam] [Digital BW] Lyson Stonehinge/Epson 4800 problem

2006-06-04 by Steve Bye

Where are you finding Lyson paper profiles for the 2400/4800/7800/9800? I
bought the album before finding out that they only have profiles for the
2200/4000/7600/9600.

Subject: [spam] [Digital BW] Lyson Stonehinge/Epson 4800 problem

Lyson puts out a portfolio binding system called Stonehinge, which
uses pages attached to strips of paper (drilled for moutning in their
folder) by clear flexible plastic tape. It's a very nice system
which I am using to put together a wedding album.

I'm attempting to print both sides of each sheet with my Epson 4800
(some color, some B&W, so I'm OT). I'm able to print the even
numbered pages just fine, but the printeer will not accept the sheets
when loaded with the clear plastic strip at the leading edge. The
print head kind of noses around with its LED sensor, sees paper (the
binding strip), then no paper (the attachment tape), then paper again
(the actual prinable surface) and decides that something is not
right. I then get an error message stating that the paper is not
loaded straight and the printer shuts down.

Not good.

I've tried putting masking tape over the clear portion, but the
printer saw right through that ruse. Has anyone else come up against
this situation? Any workarounds?

Thanks in advance,

Karl Wolz
