Came across this awhile back when I had a 1280 and PS7: http://www.computer-darkroom.com/ps7_page/page_layout.htm This should help at least get you close to "why" your prints don't get centered, and can show you a way to fix it. It uses Mac OSX, but I run windoze and the info applied as well.
