>... I have an Epson 2000P ... They seem to be durable printers with dots that are a bit larger than the modern ones. The MIS FS/N setup worked well in it. > can I swap ink carts back and forth from color to B&W? Yes, but it's a bit of a hassle. Most of the inks would be compatible, but Eboni (MIS MK) does not like dye. >If I can swap, should I also use the MIS color inks as well? That would be the most compatible, but I've seen no problems between the MIS inks and Epson pigments. >Also, what is the best way to store an opened ink cart? I rinse off the outlets with a syringe that is kept full of water. Then I tape the outlet. You don't want things to dry out. >I also have an Epson 870 and a new R220... > I plan on converting one of them to B&W only printing as well. The R220 is about the best small printer made. It's not only an excellent starter with the UT-R2 inkset, but it's also an excellent one for making proofs for larger B&W printers. You'll note the new UT-3D inkset was first on the 220. It's the printer I use daily. Good luck with your B&W. Paul www.PaulRoark.com Thanks for any help you can offer. Andrew
