Digital BW, The Print

Cousins:
I am brand new to this group and want to dip my toe into digital B&W 
printing on my current printer, an epson 740.  Can I get some advice 
on inks and papers to make my initial foray simple?  I will be
looking 
to print fine-art subjects on a rag-type paper.  Some print longevity 
would be appropriate, although long-term archive quality is not 
necessarily needed. TIA!
