I am pondering something similar. But I would opt for the MIS UT-3D 
inkset, which forgoes the ability to print sepia. I am hoping to try 
out this inkset on a smaller printer first. My worry is ink consistency
and the possibility of this inkset settling to cause color changes. 
Paul Roark can comment on this better. A while back I had ordered a 
couple of MIS empty carts for the 4000, and they had a major 
design/manufacturing flaw. I am not sure if they have fixed it yet.

If you plan on printing on RC or the newer Fiba Gloss, Museo Silver Rag 
class of PK papers, I would also recommend saving one ink slot for a 
clear gloss overcoat (like Krystal TopKote). I am using this routinely 
now, which completely eliminates gloss differential/bronzing. It is 
better than breathing spray fumes, and for K3 inks, it bumps up the 
Dmax from 2.3 to more than 2.5.

$400 for a 2 year old 4000? You're kidding, right? I would gladly pay 
you $600 if it is good working order :-)
