It was no problem with a 4x5 a couple of months ago. I have an especially compact camera and lenses. I just carried my camera in a small backpack and all the film was Readyloads. With 100asa film I don't worry about carry-on xrays. Unfortunately the recent airline issues make this whole scenario a bit suspect. In the US it's still OK as long as carry-on is allowed. I think Readyload is advised so they can look at it if they want to.
