Joe; I agree with the conclusion you're arriving at: 'file tweaking' is undoubtedly the most important part of the printing process-in the end, it always comes down to 'file tweaking' whether in the darkroom, or digitally. This is where your own aesthetic and vision is expressed, what will separate you from the guy across the street. Even paper choice and David's advanced profile control is just 'file tweaking' by other means, and a further opportunity to express your individuality. And as you point out, the mechanics are getting easier and less time-consuming so we can get on with the real business at hand. Now if I could just get these damn printers to give me a cleaning nozzle test.....
