On the 7800 and 9800 models it didn't take much time to get
the knowledge to refill the pressurized carts. Building on the
method we used to fill the pressurized 10000 carts before
that. But it is correct that it took a long time before the
10000 carts were copied and as far as my experience goes the
Epson 10K carts are still better.
Paul, the 4800 has no pressurized carts, they are the
7600-9600 carts.
Compared to the 50$ prices of the new HP Vivera 130 ml carts
and 75$ for two 130 ml carts I have to say that I find the
3800 carts 80 ml expensive, and compared to the K3 110 and 220
ml carts they are expensive too. Looks like you have to pay
the price of a cheaper 17" printer in cart cost.
The best of this printer must be in the print quality control,
new weaving, the use of one profile for all resolutions, the
claim that you can't tell how the print was made. For the rest
the specs do not impress me if compared to the new
competition. The automatic black ink swap isn't as nice as the
extra head on the Canon iPF 5000.
