I've had a CIS in my Epson C84 for 2 years. It is from MIS, uses MIS EZ inks, and was installed when the printer was new - the C84 is my dedicated black and white printer. Per the instructions, I replace the ink bottles when it's time to refill them (I pour the remains of the old bottle into the new one, top up the new one with fresh ink, and wash out the old bottle so it becomes the "new" one at the next refill.) About every 2 or 3 months I have to run a cleaning cycle or two on the printer. And that it IT. Never had a clog from hell, never had a failure to print that wasn't fixed with a regular cleaning cycle. The printer is giving me the "internal parts are about worn out" message from time to time, so I'm about to transfer the whole CIS to a new printer (a C88). I think it's pretty hard to criticize an ink system that outlasts the printer on which it's installed.
