Use lots of good cleaner, the Image Specialists WJ800 works well for this, but don't leave it there too long. Sometimes a lint free cleaning pad to wipe some of the goo away can help. Always do a head cleaning after all this to dry out the pad. You may also be able to remove the pad to wash it out, but I have never needed to do that. The other thing that you really need to keep clean is the rubber wiper, goo on that will get you every time. If you remove the pad, make sure that you can still get suction on the head, or the ink pump that's used to clean the heads will not work.
