If you are going to dedicate the printer to b&w, I'm assuming you are going 
to use the Cone rip. If thats the case, it really doesn't matter, since his 
software takes the printer places where it has never gone before.
And if that is indeed the case, it will take some time for Cone Editions to 
write a new rip for whatever printer might come out  shortly. If they decide 
to support it.
So that leaves one waiting for months for a maybe.
