I'm there for the ride for the most part.) Those within driving distance of California's Southern Sierra Nevadas in particular can get to know some other B&W enthusiasts in the group in a relaxed setting for very little cost. ($395 for a week, "room" [tent cabin] and board [hot showers if we're lucky], and it's even tax deducible.) (We're still looking for a volunteer to backpacking in a 9600 this year.)
