With those, I think it depends on whether the particular cart is well aligned to the printer involved, but it's been a while since I had a 1280. My suspicions were, the last time I had one of those, that air was leaking in due to a poor seal between the cart and printer. That, of course, makes for perpetually bad nozzle checks.
