Digital BW, The Print

Having recently aquired the Epson 3800, and it is my first K3 printer 
with ABW printing option, I have a question about printing from 
Photoshop.

Normally, when printing a color photograph, I would choose to have 
Photoshop manage colors and turn color management off in the printer 
driver.

My question is, when using ABW is the procedure the same, or do I want 
to have the printer manager the "color" or b&w tone in this case?

What would be the proper workflow for printing with ABW?
