I'm another who also went through two 1280s and I am now very happy with the 2400 for all the reasons so well laid out by Clayton Jones. The two most important points are first, that if permanence matters to you the 1280 (dye) is not the way to go and second, that the 2400 works beautifully right out of the box and you can take your own sweet time experimenting with other inks, profiles RIPs, etc. Just my two cents: Olaf
