I fear this may be an overworked topic...I am starting out with K6 inks on an epson 9500, and having trouble with shadow areas. Last night I changed my workflow over to 2.2 gamma (I'm on a Mac), hoping that would solve the blocking-up blacks I'm getting. But it doesn't seem to change anything. I'm using QaudtoneRIP, following all the steps, and can't seem to get away from the black pools in what should be shadow detail, and an awkward, muddy(?) transition to middle grays. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated! I have so many nice negs to print! thanks, Pat Kelley --- patrick kelley assistant professor, new media and photography dept. of art and art history st. olaf college northfield, MN http://www.patrickkelley.org
