I think Paul understates the difference ;) The 3000 has such large dots that even with a four tone ink set, it's hard pressed to match what a smaller drop machine could do with just black and light black. If you want a nice 17x22 machine, be on the lookout for a used or refurbished Epson 4000. Typically, they run about $600-800 used.
