Digital BW, The Print

Hello
I use a R340 with MIS R2 carts that I order prefilled from inksupply.
I noticed that when the printer wants me to change a cart saying it's
empty, the cart still has quite a bit of ink left. So I thought I
could reset the cart chip and continue using the cart until its really
empty.
Is there any problem for the printer by doing this? Could that harm
the print head or something else?
