I meant that by letting a cart run all the way out, I sometimes spoil a sheet of paper - the last sheet printed - by postponing replacing the nearly empty cart until it has run all the way out. And I'm not sure it's worth it even if the printer is apparently not damaged by letting its carts run out. > The question is: Will the printer get damaged if it runs on empty > carts? Maybe, but I don't think your printer will run with even a single cart empty. I believe that whatever switches the red ink light from blinking to glowing steadily will also stop the printing. After the empty cart is replaced, I think your printer will continue the print from where it left off. The discontinuity might cause a blemish on the sheet you were printing as the ink ran out. But, judging from my experience, I don't think any harm is done to the printer by letting that happen. -- Sam > [snip] >> >> In the case of my R200 and Epson cart's, Gordon, apparently it's not >> a problem for the printer.
