HFL, Don't really have an answer for you, but as the printers get older, there is less and less chance that drivers, variety of ink sets and etc, will be available for them. The fisherman needs to go where the fish are to eat, so do the suppliers. I recently came back to B&W printing after a 2 year hiatus. My previous system consisted of a Mac OS 9 machine, MIS quadtone CFS inks, PS 7, 22" CRT and an Epson 1160 (still in perfect working order.) I'm now using OS X on a G4 PB with CS2 and MIS UT cartridges to get started. Initial results were terrible. But thanks to Paul Roark, who developed the software for the UT inks, I discovered the problem to be the GIMP driver for the 1160. Epson never upgraded their 1160 driver for OS X. Now, in order to print, I have to take the file back to the older machine and reopen it in PS 7. Nor a happy situation. What are my options? Upgrade the printer, change ink supplier, transfer files back and forth between machines or what? Any and all advice appreciated. HFL [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
