I'm sorry to have to confess that your problems may be the result of 
a weakness in my linearization targets, rather than anything else. 
There was quite a bit of helpful discussion about this when i first 
uploaded the targets to this group and i promised to re-do them, but 
with one thing and another i haven't got round to it. Your message 
has reminded me that i need to get this done, and i'll try to upload 
a revised version (both here and on NorthLight) within the next few 
days. Apologies if my delay has given you a headache.
