It doesn't sound like you replaced the CIS cartridge? This is what you really should do. New cartridges are about $35. It took me about 30mintues to flush the lines, replace the cartridge and reload with new ink (this was with two color ink sets...I'm still running PiezoBW in my VW machines). I don't think it is a good idea to mix inks in a single cartridge...particularly if you are then trying to use VM profiles.
