The MIS k4 inkset is a very close match to Epson's K3. The issue of
print neutrality when using the ABW mode might be important for some
people, but for the time being I am happy with the prints that I get
out of the box with the K4 inkset, both in color and b&w. In essence,
they look excelent to me, and the cost of operating the printer is
much lower than using epson inks.

It's relatively easy with the R2400's ABW. If you want maximum
longetivity, then you might want to replace the yellow cartridge and
more adjustments will be needed. Plus you will have to change
cartridges to print in color or b&w. But if you just use the K4's
yellow, I think that you will get relatively neutral prints.

You just have to switch the black cartridge - just as yu would do with
the epson inks - but the swapping will cost you ink (about 1ml in my
printer, of ALL inks) so it's advisable to switch paper type seldomly.

The universal black is an alternative, but it contains dyes so I would
avoid it.

However, nobody really knows if the prints will last that long -
estimates are just that, estimates. I use the best inks and acid-free
papers that I can affort, if possible with little or no OBA's, hoping
that the prints last at least 20 years. If the estimates are true,
then they will last for much longer, which will be nice.
