Digital BW, The Print

I printed the same image on a 1280 with UT2 inks using Paul Roark's
neutral profile for EEM and QTR's neutral curve.  Even after I got the
ink and gamma adjustment to the point where the two prints matched,
the print using the Roark profile was obviously sharper than the one
using QTR and there was a corresponding difference in resolution of
detail.  

Is that the norm or perhaps an artifact of my workflow, printer, etc.
The only difference between the two was that one was saved as a TIFF.
