When my 2200 was shipped from Florida to Oregon the movers got to it before I did and just tossed it upside down in a moving box with some packing paper around it. It was transported by van in the middle of winter from Florida to Oregon (3000 miles), then it sat in the moving box in my Oregon garage from early January to late March while the house was being finished. When I was finally able to set it up I just plugged it in and it worked like a charm, no clogging or other problems at all. ----- Original Message ----- From: "shangheye" <shangheye@...> To: <DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 09, 2007 5:06 AM Subject: [Digital BW] Transportation of Epson Pro 3800 I'm moving from China back to Belgium, and my printer will be transported by ship. It will be picked up with the rest of my things and will be on the ship for about six weeks. I still have most of the original packing, so I will have it in it's bag, plus it's foam and box, and even some of the original tape used by Epson to seal it! The moving company will also crate it, to protect it. My main question relates to the inks. Should the inks be removed for this trip, or should they remain in place? Epson advises that after a long period of the printer being unused, that the inks should be removed, given a few shakes and replaced (redistributes the ink). This suggests, that if the printer was at home, I would have been expected to leave the inks in. When the printer is turned on, the nozzle clean would then ensure no clogs. Should they stay in place or be removed...I'm currently on the side of keeping them in place... Anybody have a similar experience or recommendation.
