Hi Bob, >my Epson P200 inkjet has not been used for two years >and I am considering donating or converting for B&W only > printing. An initial issue is whether the machine is still in good working condition. If there are clogged heads, a cleaning cart and perhaps some Windex might be needed. >Any advice/experience? Which system would you recommend? I set up a 2000P with MIS UT-FS inks in the past. See http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/2000P-FS-Readme.htm The basic approach outlined at http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/4K+.pdf would also work. More specifically, one could put in K, LK, and LLK for a good carbon core and then also have Y, LM, and LC for toning. If you didn't care about sepia, PK could be inserted instead of Y. Because the 2000P dot size is a little larger than today's printers, I'd use the 50% dilution of the LC. This approach is basically like the Epson K3 approach. QTR would be used to control it, but new profiles would need to be made. The profiles for the k3 machines or those that I've made for the 2200 might be good starting places for profiles, but the ink positions and limits would need to be adjusted, and the profiles re-linearized.
