The things you mentioned shouldn't be a problem but that doesn't mean that
they are not. So if you have a different brand of CD disks give that a try.
Check task manager and check what processes you have running, there could be
things you are not aware of. You may want to tell the operating system to
prioritize foreground tasks, if that is not already set. There is  also a
possibility that your hard disk is fragmented.
